Next Batch of Training on Global Data Protection Laws

Cyber Law College is scheduling the Second Batch of training for FDPPI’s Certified Data Protection professional-Module G program starting from 7th November 2020 as a week end program.

The Course objective is to provide the necessary knowledge back up for Data Protection Professionals in India who are typically handling personal data processing not only from India but from many countries in other data protection regions.

FDPPI’s Module I covers in depth the Indian data protection regime based on the Personal Data Protection Bill 2019. The Bill is expected to be a law in the next budget session and after which  additional free bridging session/s will be conducted to cover the changes for all those who have already attended the earlier program on Module I by Cyber Law College.

Now, this Module G  covers the following  global laws which we consider are relevant to the Indian data protection community.

a) GDPR
b) CCPA
c) Singapore PDPA 2012
d) DIFC Data Protection Law
e) HIPAA
f)LGPD(Brazil)

Course Contents:

1 Concept of Privacy and the journey of Data Protection Regulation from HIPAA to GDPR and PDPA (India)
2 GDPR- Applicability, Data Protection Principles and Data Subject Rights, Exemptions and Derogations
3 GDPR-Cross Border Transfer of Data, SCC, BCR
4 GDPR-Compliance Obligations, DPIA, Privacy By Design,
DPO, Remedies, Liabilities and Sanctions
5 CCPA- Applicability, Principles and Data Subject’s Rights, Legitimate Interests,
6 CCPA-Compliance Obligations, Notice, Consent, Legitimate Interest etc
7 LGPD- Overview
8 DIFC-Overview
9 Singapore PDPA-Applicability, Principles, Data Subject’s Rights, Exemptions,
10 Singapore PDPA-Compliance Obligations
11 Challenges in Compliance of Multiple Data Protection Laws
12 Discussions

Appropriate reading material would be provided to the participants and an online examination would be held before Certification.

The course is conducted by Cyber Law College and the fee would be Rs 9000/-

Those who complete the training would be eligible for taking up the qualification examination for “FDPPI’s Certified Data Protection Professional-Module G”.

The examination cum certification (after clearing the cut off score)  is available only for members of FDPPI and the examination fee is Rs 6000/-

Cyber Law College would provide a discount of Rs 3000 to all members of FDPPI as of October 30, 2020, and hence training fee for such members would be Rs 6000/- instead of Rs 9000/-

Those who join the program after October 30th are required to pay Rs 9000/- for the training program.

FDPPI provides two kinds of program namely Foundation membership at Rs 6000/- and Supporting membership at Rs 15000/-. Both kinds of members would be eligible for the discount of Rs 3000/-.

The examination fee is also mandatory for all persons who would like to take the certification.

In summary the cost of the program is as follows:

  1. Training Program only: Rs 9000
  2. Training+certification for current members upto October 30, 2020: Rs 12000
  3. Training+certification+membership (Foundation) upto October 30, 2020: Rs 18000/-
  4. Training+examination+membership (Foundation) after October 30, 2020: Rs 21000/-

Registration is Open

The program is scheduled to be conducted over 12 sessions spread over Saturday and Sunday from 7th November 2020 and may go upto  December 13th. (Subject to changes if any due to holidays).

Suitable material would be provided during the training program for further study.

Examination will be available after December 19/20.

The timing of the sessions would be 90 minutes each day and it would be held from 11.00 am in the morning.
